| 内容記述 | The arrival of St. Francisco Xavier, founder of the Japan's Jesuits, in Kagoshima in 1549 opened a brand-new chapter in Japan's Christian missionary history. After that, countless Jesuits in Japan exerted their utmost efforts to the Jesuits' mission and stamped their names on the page of missionary history. By their efforts, the influence of the Jesuits was successfully expended to Bungo, Hakata, Hirado and Kyushu. Nevertheless, all the while, there were few studies on the history of that period, to say nothing of the studies on Xavier and his multitudinous advocators, without whose supporting, his glorious achievements would be impossible. This year is the anniversary of Xavier's 500-year birth. As a reason, it is of great significance to make a chart of the initial history of Japan's Jesuits which is three dimensional and profound. | |||||
