Many scholars considered that Qohelet was written in the third century B. C. E. F. Crusemann examined the Book from the viewpoint of the socio-history, and concluded that Qohelet had belonged to the upper class in the Ptolemaic era. C. L. Seow, however, investigated the vocabularies of Qohelet, and demonstrated that some words showed the features from the latter period of the Persian era. D. Rudman made an objection to him. According to him, Seow's hypothesis set the dating of Qohelet only after the Persian era. Rudman pointed out exceptions of Seow's suggestions. I reexamined their contentions, and remarked to some texts which mentioned to the redactor of the Book (7:27, 12:11). Based on these discussions, I assumed two redactional stages in the Book of Qohelet, that is Chapter 1-7 and 8-12, and indicated its dating in the latter period of the Hellenistic era, ca. 150 B. C.
