In the latter, if a researcher collects only the female individuals of a species, one can not describe the whole species. One must write that a beetle always spawns eggs. This can not be true. The crucial lacuna in a Feminist study of literature is to ignore that literature is not just a human document, such as a medical case records or even laundry bills. Literary work is a fiction, and a work of art. Suppose a painter represents a female figure with a remarkable contrast of light and darkness. Does this signify anything about females? You can understand what a nonsense a Feminist study says, if it argues about, for example, Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, theorizing what Hawthorne's idea of women is. Feminists necessarily and arbitrarily drop out the idea that a literary work is a work of art. Since this is to claim an utterly false idea, a Feminist study of literature is deconstructive. The sole result of deconstruction is to destroy all the values of scholarship. Hence the only right thing with the Feminist study of literature is to terminate it at once. Otherwise it will destroy the future of any promising student, like feeding babies with food including needles.}, pages = {15--23}, title = {文学研究において「女性学」は成立しない 〈特集 女性学の成立をめぐって〉}, volume = {9}, year = {1995}, yomi = {ミヤケ, アキコ} }
