In this paper, I discuss Yuki's relationship with the Japanese motion-picture world, by focusing on her contribution to writing the scenarios for \"The Yellow Crow\" (Kiiroi Karasu) and \"Elegy\" (Banka), two films directed by Gosho Heinosuke, which were great box-office successes at the time (1957). By looking at the revisions made to the unfinished manuscript, I was  able to shed light on not only what was expected of Yuki's scenarios, but also on what she herself wanted to express. Gosho is known for the way he represents townspeople in his films; \"The Yellow Crow\" is the story of a confused 8 year old boy who has to start living with his father, freshly repatriated from China after the Second World War. It is likely that Yuki was asked to write the scenario of this film due to her experience with children's literature and her understanding of the feelings of common people. The movie adaptation of Harada Yasuko's \"Elegy\" turned the novel into a best-seller. While checking the writing process against Yuki's diary.
