It is said that this journal functioned as a mover when musical composition by Japanese musicians became active from around 1910. In this paper, the following three points will be examined: 1) Cultivation through composition competition, 2) publishing of foreign songs, 3) publishing of solo songs by Japanese musicians.\nAs a result, it became clear that 1) a composition competition was realized once in its first issue but then it disappeared, 2) in total thirty pieces of foreign songs were published in this journal, including sixteen a cappella choral songs and two choral songs with piano accompaniment, and  3) in total thirty six songs by Japanese musicians were published, including seven by YANADA Tadashi, six by HIROTA Ryutaro, five by MIYAHARA Teiji, three by YAMADA Koscak to by FUNAHASHI Eikichi and FUJII Kiyomi, and each one by eleven musicians.
