 note = {図書館は知の集積所として、分類と秩序の象徴でありながら、人類の文明史に一定の位置を占めてきた。そこにはさまざまな知識の、その物質的形態である書物の、収集・保存・管理・分類・配列・展示・利用というそれぞれの機能が、各時代・地域に応じて託されてきた。もちろん制度としての図書館をめぐる文化史や知性史の研究は少なくない。本稿で扱うのはそのような制度史でなく、むしろひとつの「社会的表象」としての ＜図書館＞ のありようである。ひとがその社会あるいは日常を「図書館」のように整序し秩序化するとき、そこで実際におこなわれているのはなにかという知識社会学的問いが焦点となる。この課題い接近するため、実在する図書館空間のみならず、「図書館小説」という想像的空間が利用される。文学社会学の手法によって「図書館小説」を読むことで、図書館についての社会的イメージが読み解かれる。イメージとしての図書館もまた、いうまでもなくひとつの制度であり、建造物である。それは世界のなかに場所を占める。しかしその空間は、秩序と混沌の異種混淆的な本質をあきらかにするものだろう。この過程を経て提起されるのは、日常的表象である「ユートピア」としての図書館から、「ヘテロトピア」としての図書館への視点の転換である。（本稿はその前半部となる）, Library has been a locus for human civilization, physically or ideally: a representation of <knowledge> and <order>. This paper proposes "library as topos" from the perspective of Sociology of Knowledge. The social imagery of library may be represented in fictional libraries as well as in real architecture. We shall see some of the "library fiction," namely fictional works that make some reference to libraries. Procedures in Sociology of Literature may be useful in this respect. We will depict "Social Imagery of Library" as Heterotopic (as M. Foucault used) rather than Utopic. This is the first part of the article consisting of (0) Library as Topos, (1) The Image of the Library and (2) Reading Library/Library Fiction.},
