Second, I re‒considered the essential functions of Motherhood, using new brain science knowledge on the psychological mechanism of the interaction between mother and child. Furthermore, I pointed out, based on Imai’s research (2009), that Fatherhood and Motherhood are not constrained to the gender of the parent who gives it. Finally, I explained PCIT,which I have been practicing since 2013, and considered the role that parents should play in fostering children’s empathy and self‒regulation ability through PCIT skills and structure from viewpoints of Motherhood, Fatherhood, and parental gender.
