| 内容記述 | V. 449-472. After giving a gist of Plato's idea on the community of women and children,the writer comments on the idea. It may be absurd,but ouget not to be regarded as immoral. Points to be taken intoconsideration are,1 ) Plato was well aware of the sacredness of marriage,2 ) the ancient Greeks' view of sex may have been crude,but not sophisticated,3 ) the number of the elite of the Greek polis must have been very small,and perhaps 4) Plato had never married. V. 472b-VI .502d. Possibility of such an ideal state as planned by Plato. This problem reminds us that any attempt of improvement in society of any kind and any size cannot not be fully realized, and yet we mustwork as if full realization is possible.VI. 503a-511e. Education of the guardians is treated of. Brief explanation is given by Socrates of the two worlds the visible and the intelligible,and four grades of cognition,sensation,belief,opinion and true knowlege. Socrates suggests the study of philosophy should not be began too early.VII. 514a-541b. The fable of inhabitants of a cave. The so-called new ideas in education are to be found in many parts of the dialogue,especially in this chapter. | |||||
