| 内容記述 | This paper maintains that Christian Zen is not a syncretism which simply tries to combine Christian thought with Zen thought. Christian Zen preserves the traditional essence of Christianity which contains the Trinity. According to Christian Zen, Jesus Christ has divinity as well as humanity. He was born of the seed of David according to the flresh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Holy Spirit, by resurrection from the dead (Rom 1:3-4). Therefore he lives up to the present in the spiritual dimension and continues acts of salvation through the Holy Spirit. I will present how Christians can experience the Holy Spirit's work and Christ's presence by means of Christian Zen. This experience can be achieved through theosis, namely deification. Theosis means that Christians have their own unity and communion with God through the Holy Spirit. It is very useful to develop the spirit of Zen mindfulness in order to from a communion with God. And when we read Zen textbooks, for example, "Mumonkan" and "Hekiganroku," we can learn how to train in the spirit of Zen mindfulness. Needless to say,it is necessaty to also continue Zazen training every day. We can experience a mental condition, called "mushin", or "funi (not two)," a empty mind, by means of reading Zen textbooks and continuing Zazen training. Mushin is Zen stage in which the subject(the human mind)identifies with objects(natural phenomena). In other words, the human being sees himself or herself in natural phenomena, for example, the sky, the wind and the trees. According to Zen thought, the sky reflects each human mind. If Christians apply this Zen epistemology to the message of the resurrected Christ is the origin of every life in the world. Evety human being is kept alive by Chist's life. Chistian Zen helps the human being find this important fact in everyday life. | |||||
