| 内容記述 | In this paper the importation of plays and movies from Japan to South Korea between the 1880s and the 1920s and the development of the profession "Actress" are considered. Particularly in this period Japan and South Korea imported cine-projectors from the United States and France and the system of performance was established in South Korea. Besides, the cultural exchange between South Korea and Japan was extremely active and their movies and plays were influenced by each other. In this paper, I would like to consider what social role the "Actress" carried out in South Korea and how Korean modern society received it. In South Korea Confucianism has been absorbed into every aspect of life. Because of the resulting discrimination against women ,female entertainers who expressed feelings by using their bodies were despised. Women's advance into South Korean society started with its modernization in those years. Therefore, I would especially like to examine the relation between this phenomena and the introduction of "Actress" into South Korea, which has not been studied yet. | |||||
