| 内容記述 | 本論文は、プラトン『法律』には女性性を評価する視点があることを論証しようとするものである。そのために、まず一節でプラトンの『法律』でクレイニアスの求めに応じてクレテ島に建設されることになるマグネシアにおける女性の主に政治との関わりについて確認する。ついで二節において、『法律』における結婚の意義について『国家』の妻子共有論と比較しながら考察する。三節ではプラトンの女性の「本性」観を検討し、女性性と節制との関係を明らかにした上で、『法律』が節制を重んじる対話篇であることから、プラトンが女性性を重視していることを明らかにする。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper tries to show that Plato's Laws has a viewpoint that evaluates femininity highly. In section 1, I confirm to what extent women in Magensia, which will be constructed in Crete in responding to Clenias' request, are engaged in politics. In section 2, I consider the significance of marriage in the Laws, comparing his argument in the Republic that women and children should be held in common. And finally, in section 3, investigating Plato's notion of women's "nature" and analysing the relationship between femininity and temperance, I make it clear that Plato evaluates femininity highly in so far as in the Laws he claims that temperance is more important than courage. | |||||||||||
