| 内容記述 | 本研究の目的は、精神障害者が利用できるフォーマルな社会資源が極めて限定的なシエラレオネにおいて、精神障害のあるひとりの女性（サティア、仮名）がどのように生きてきたかを考察することにある。本稿は、本誌第37号に掲載された「精神障害を生きる（Ⅰ）─あるシエラレオネ人女性のライフヒストリー─」（金田 2023）の後編である。 本稿では、近年著しく進展するシエラレオネのメンタルヘルスケアシステムの動向を踏まえたうえで、2008年9月～2023年9月までのサティアの人生を追った。精神科病院で暮らしつつ、小学校の教師として働き続けてきたサティアは、病院の改修工事のため、強制的に退院させられることとなった。彼女は居場所を求め、最終的に、入院中に形成したインフォーマルな関係性に支えられながら地域で生活していた。サティアにとっては、精神の病い（やそれによる症状）を「どう治すか」はもはや重要ではなくなり、むしろ彼女は自分の病気を通して得たインフォーマルな資源を積極的に活用しつつ、精神障害を「どう生きるか」を見出そうとしていた。 |

| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to examine how one woman (Satia,pseudonym) with a mental disorder has lived in Sierra Leone, where formal social resources available to people with mental disorders are extremely limited. This is the second part of the articleʠLiving with a Mental Disorder (I): Life History of a Sierra Leonean Womanʡ(Kanata 2023), which appeared in No. 37 of this journal. This paper follows Satia’s life from September 2008 to September 2023,taking into account trends in the mental health care system in Sierra Leone, which has made remarkable progress in recent years. After living in a psychiatric hospital and continuing to work as an elementary school teacher, Satia was forced to leave due to hospital renovations. She sought a place to stay and eventually lived in a community near the hospital, supported by informal relationships that she had formed during her hospitalization. For Satia,"how to cure"her mental illness (and its symptoms) was no longer important, but rather she was trying to find"how to live"with a disorder while actively utilizing the informal resources she had gained through her illness. |
