| 内容記述 | The aim of this article is to clarify implications of gender-blindness of the theories of international relations, particularly realism, by examining the complementary relation between the Westphalia System and patriarchy. First, I classify theoretical positions according to binary logic and point out the theoretical affinity between realism and paternalism. Second, considering realism as knowledge of power in the Westphalia System, I problematize the vested interest of realism in maintaining the Westphalia System. Third, I describe the historical lineage of the trinity of Westphalia System, patriarchy and the modern family to make clear the causes of masculinized international politics. Fourth, I illustrate the stereotyped image of women as an object of patriarchal power in the Westphalia System. Finally, I try to shed light on the limits of maternal feminism and liberal feminism in this system and find some possibilities for disarming patriarchy in both radical feminism and postmodern feminism,though they also exhibit serious theoretical conundrums. | |||||
