| 内容記述 | This short article briefly describes feminist psychologists' endeavor in the past three decades to deconstruct biological determinism. Psychologists as well as college students and lay-people usually attribute psychological gender differences to genetic and physiological variables and even to evolutionary perspectives, whereas racial and ethnic differences reported in psychological papers are discussed in terms of cultural and social backgrounds. Feminist psychologists have struggled to reinterpret those gender differences in social contexts, pointing out that psychological and behavioral differences between women and men may be confounded with nonegalitarian distribution of power in soceity. They have also criticized positivists' research methods, especially their ideal of `objectivity,'clarifying the role played by the researchers in their research process; research findings can be affected by the questions the researchers decide to investigate, the way they design and conduct their research, and how they deal with their data. | |||||
