| 内容記述 | "A Family Supper" は、日本の70年代を背景にある家族の関係の危機を描くカズオ・イシグロの最初期の短編小説である。本論は、作品のテーマや形態的特徴を詳細に検討し、この作家の家族関係の危機の要因に関する洞察と、読者をさらに丁寧な読みに誘うその仕掛けについて明らかにする。その結果、この作品には、多様な文化の時代においてつながりの倫理探求に挑戦し続ける作家の優れた語りのセンシビリティが窺われることを論じる。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | "A Family Supper" is Kazuo Ishiguro’s earliest short story describing a Japanese family in crisis in the period of the 1970s. This short thesis examines the author’s formalistic and thematical treatments of the issue in detail and proves the author’s insights about the factors of the family fissures and his elaborate devices to involve the reader in closer reading. As a result, the thesis argues that Ishiguro shows an excellent narrative sensibility in the story as a writer who challenges the ethics of connectedness in the age of diversity. | |||||||||||
